The world of programming is constantly evolving, and developers are constantly finding ways to bridge the gap between different programming languages. Distributive, a cloud computing startup, has done just that with the release of PythonMonkey. This innovative JavaScript runtime, embedded within Python, is making it easier for developers to seamlessly integrate both languages and create more powerful applications.
With PythonMonkey, developers can use Python code in JavaScript and vice versa with ease and virtually no performance loss. This is made possible by leveraging SpiderMonkey, Mozilla’s JavaScript engine, as the foundation for the library. This also allows PythonMonkey to support the use of WebAssembly, giving developers the ability to run untrusted Wasm code in a sandbox from a variety of languages, such as C, C++, and Rust.
